In Summit, NJ I found this interesting red broom behind a business on Springfield Ave in downtown. I thought that it was interesting with the color of the bristles, but it needed a different perspective. So instead of the normal 12-40/2.8 lens (a 24mm FF FOV lens), I put on the 7.5mm Laowa super-wide, which is like a 15mm. Again in Morris Plains, NJ. A lone weed growing over a guardrail next to a parking lot. Not winning any competitions, but I liked the minimalistic composition. I tried a black-and-white version, but I thought the subtle blue-gray of the guardrail and the green plant added something to me.

Walking around Yale University for the New Haven Road Race I happened upon this little stairway down to a basement on a random Yale building. It was a little dull, but I bumped up the saturation a little to bring out the colors, especially the green splotches, which are probably algae. This is, as usual, taken with my Olympus E-M1 mk2 with the superb 12-40/2.8 lens. This is really a fabulous lens that is so very versatile. I carry this lens along with a 7.5mm Laowa and possibly a 60 macro of a 40-450/4. But given the 12-40’s great performance

Walking through the backs of business on the north side of Cranford and for some reason, a bunch of them are painted these wacky colors. On my website is another one that is chartreuse. There is a deep purple store, but this one is a neat shade of lavender.

The Whippany NJ Train station is a train station that is now unused with regular service. The line that used to serve the station was closed a long time ago. But the train station is now a railroad museum with a dozen or two cars, exhibits, etc. I think they also have some steam engine rides from time to time. This is a photo of the train station taken on digital and converted to black and white. I did a bunch of smoothing and massaging to emulate fine-grained film with a little glow, as I remember it.

At the Rumson country club, where we recently attended a wedding. It had just rained pretty hard and as you walked up the stairs to go into the wedding venue, the floor was made of a decking material. The decking had cupped, as they usually do, and the water was pooling in the cupped deck planks. This guy, probably one of the band members, walked outside to grab a smoke and I snapped this with my iPhone. Of course, it was upside down, so I flipped it both Horizontally and Vertically so he would be looking left-to-right and right side
