You go to the beach and try to find a little time away from your family. Pinhole photography and the super portable setup you can have from such a kit is perfect. I brought my RSS 6×6 camera with Kentmere 100 film and a little table-top tripod. Lovely, start compositions abound on an early morning beach.
The exposures outside were around 1-2 seconds, as I remember it.
Permanent beach umbrella, before the summer beach-goers have arrived.
Unmanned lifeguard stand. It says Lifeguard On Duty, but they lied.
A pair of children’s teal blue/green Crocs water shoes. I should have shot it in color, but I like the results. No posing. I have some sort of visceral aversion to posing objects in photos. I should get over it, but I really can’t for the most part and I tend to try and make photos of what is there.
Another of the lifeguard stand, but from the stand itself this time. I loved the symmetry
A “portrait” of one of my good friends. Didn’t know if it would come out, but the photo looks some sort of 1950’s B-grade horror movie like “Attack of the 50’ Beach Goer”. A
A quick portrait of a couple of nice ladies who were manning the beach access drive-in. Lovely Massachusetts ladies both of them. The exposure was around 15 seconds and only one of them held still, which kind of enhanced the image.
