3 Mops

Nothing stupendous, but I see a lot of neat photos of brooms or mops behind local, small town businesses. They’re often nicely colored and offer great contrasts between brick work and tool. These with yellow heads were especially notable to me. Olympus E-M1.2 with the 12-40/2.8

Purple Railing

Again in GA, a couple of neat shots of a lilac purple railing aside a random building. The first one had a little glow added, as I loved the glowing purple against the reddish wall. The second photo is not the same railing, but it’s on the same building. Shot from overhead at an awkward angle, I like it more the look at it.

FDC in GA

I’ve started to find beauty, color, and form in the thousands of FDCs (Fire Department Connection) that are on the side of commercial buildings for fire departments to power building sprinklers in a fire. They are interesting, they are often colorful. I’ve even got a Gallery Page I’ve started where I’m going to start assembling them. But these two in Covington, GA were especially nice.

Steps and a Window

These three were all in Covington, GA, but not all at the same place. The steps’ images are both of the same building, but the other one is different. I loved the light on these reddish steps and was lucky to be there at that time. Really nice, IMO. The other image turned out better than I expected, as the light was pretty mediocre. The window was very dirty, like the building has been vacant for many years. The paper is behind the window. I had to straighten in up and remove my legs from the fuzzy reflection and brighten

Hang Tag

I think I’m in love with this image. I know it’s just a mundane photo of a commercial electrical box’s security tag. But it’s sharp with a great shallow DOF. The B&W tones are wonderful. The lighting is nice. The background nicely dark. The stupid tag was blowing around in the wind and I’m actually surprised it was as sharp as it was. Taken on digital with my E-M1.2 with the always stellar 12-40/2.8 wide open. I also took this one about 2 feet from the black-and-white photo. It’s nice, but the background is pretty messy and I don’t like

Georgia Infrared 2

This is the second part of the in-the-hay-field shot that I did with the E-M5.1 Infrared camera. In case you didn’t read the previous post, this is a 590nm converted camera where I’m using a 720nm R72 almost black filter. Shot this one right into the sun white it was a little hidden by the clouds. Love the sky and the altocumulus clouds. I wondered down by the fence and got a trio of great shots right after this one I like the symmetrical nature of this one. Not sure I’m happy with the fuzzy edges however. I probably didn’t

Georgia Infrared

I am at my family home in Covington Ga and they had just rolled up the hay into those giant, picturesque round bales. I thought that there has got to be a bunch of photos. I went to the field at around 10:00-11:00 and the light was just not low enough. So I promised myself to g back the next day and try when the sun was peaking over the trees, which is around 9:00 in GA, which is at the western end of the Eastern Timezone. It was wet from the morning dew, but I decided to just get
