4 Quadrants: Grey edition
In Sacramento, just a stucco building with corners of different colors that came together with a neat pattern. Olympus EM1 12-40/2.8

I was a rare passenger on the interstate in Sacramento attending the California International Marathon and was able to tune my long exposure and technique. This was 3 sec at 1/16 at ISO 800 on my Olympus E-M1. I really liked this one. I probably took 30-40 shots and these were the best 3.

Amazing what you can find, even sitting at Bloomindales with your family eating ice cream. Saw this mannequin sitting there on a bold checkerboard floor at the mall and thought: “That’d make a neat picture.” So I took it and did a bit of work to remove some distracting elements and ended with a keeper. I tried in in Black and White, but the little bit of color in the mannequin’s feet and shoes that helped, so I left it. Olympus E-M1.1 with 12-50 kit lens

Walking around the wet, wet streets of Old Town Sacramento in early December at the California International marathon, I saw this nice assemblage of wet reflections and shadows. Taken in color but desaturated in Lr. Olympus E-M1, 12-40/2.8 Zuiko.

From Versailles, France at the Palace. There are a bunch of ”groves” on the palace grounds that have different themes. One that I was able to see in May when I was there was The Enceladus Grove. It has all these trellises that had superb patterns. I wish I had been there longer to explore, but family vacations offer little time for casual photography. This one was taken on a cloudy day with my IR converted Olympus E-M5.1 with a 720nm filter.

I was in the St. Louis airport waiting for a plane to depart and had some time to kill. I thought that maybe I could do some Intentional Camera Movement photos with my iPhone14Pro. I used the Lightroom mobile app and was fairly happy with the final results…..except. 1. You can’t vary the aperture, only the shutter speed and the ISO. This meant that my photos were about 4-5 stops over exposed. The Apple RAW format allowed me to extract detail, but it wasn’t pretty.2. I need to order a clip-on ND filter 3. I need to take my Olympus

I’ve been very happy about this series of photos that I took in Seneca Falls, NY. For anyone who doesn’t know this unassuming town in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate NY was supposedly the inspiration for the town of Bedford Falls in Frank Capra’s famous 1946 movie ”It’s a Wonderful Life”. There is dispute about it, but it’s a nice story nonetheless. The bridge that Clarence the angel jumps off of to entice Jimmy Stewart to save him is also supposedly modeled on the green bridge on Bridge Street in town. The actual bridge in the movie was re-constructed

Number 2 taken out the window of a New York City taxi. Again, I love the colors and abstract nature.
Taken out the window of a New York City taxi. Love the colors and abstract nature. I need to do more of this.
Great, early winter/late fall cold morning in the forest in the Watchung Reservation, a county park in Union Co NJ in Mountainside. About 1 hour after sunrise. Should have gone earlier, but the scene won’t change until the snow comes, so I can go back during December a bit earlier. Olympus E-M1, as usual with the superb 12-40. Two shots stitched.

Just a calm, sunset scene on the Apalachicola Bay. Cropped out of an Olympus E-M1.2 shot in April, 2022.

Walked along the Asbury Park NJ boardwalk for a few minutes last week after sunset and a couple photos presented themselves. Nothing spectacular, But good nonetheless. I had to edit the first one a bit to remove some extraneous bits, but nothing major. All taken with the Olympus E-M1.2 and the 12-40/2.8 Zuiko.
